BRITT NHI SARAH
Ms. Sarah trained as a competitive figure skater winning the bronze medal at the Canada Winter Games at the age of 12. At 16, she became a professional dancer.
She performed her original choreography with ensemble companies like Do Theatre in St. Peterburg, Russia, touring shows through Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Germany, and festivals in Austria and France.
Britt Nhi settled in New York City working with Ice Theatre of New York and other noted performance troupes. She began to train as an aerial artist with Chelsea Bacon in 2000. A year later, Ms. Sarah wrote and produced an aerial ice show; “Numana – A Journey On Ice”. She collaborated with renowned choreographer/performer Jim May to create a new approach to movement on ice.
The Zipper Factory invited Britt Nhi Sarah and Carla Cantrelle to produce an aerial showcase in 2004. Above the Belt received critical acclaim for the next 4 years. In the Fall 2008 season, Britt Nhi invited Alexander Rea to be her Co-Producer. Above the Belt continues to present new aerial art in New York City’s featured theatres.
Ms. Sarah is also a costume designer, stained glass artist and ice skating instructor at the Chelsea Pier’s Sky Rink. Britt Nhi currently trains with former Big Apple Circus performer, Mia Wolff (www.miawolff.com)
